How do we prepare children to thrive in a world dominated by digital media?
Returning to the podcast this week is Kari Sutton, Author of Raising a Mentally Fit Generation, speaker, and internationally recognised Early Childhood Consultant.
With over 30 years of experience in education, much of it focused on early childhood and diverse needs, Kari has dedicated her career to improving the mental health and wellbeing of children.
She’s currently completing a PhD, writing her thesis Parents, Children and Online Safety: Building Digital Resilience. It’s a subject Kari is deeply passionate about, after witnessing first-hand the negative impacts of digital media on young people over the past 15 years.
While she acknowledges the value of technology, Kari believes we must equip children with the tools, skills, and strategies they need to navigate the digital landscape, from their earliest years right through adolescence.
You’ll hear why the answer isn’t to remove technology, but to give children the tools, skills, and strategies to navigate it with confidence. Kari’s experience will help you guide the next generation safely through an ever-changing, often dangerous online world.
