Founder of Raq Vision, Raq The Boat, and host of Rated Gen Z podcast

Raquel Borras is a Gen X mum, youth advocate, and bridge-builder between generations who believes the fastest way to heal generational divides is to genuinely listen to young people.

In this episode, Raquel returns to share what’s unfolded since Season 1 – including the creation of her documentary I Hear You, Gen Z, a cross-country journey capturing unfiltered conversations with 18–26-year-olds about identity, pressure, technology, purpose, and belonging.

My big takeaway from our conversation is the hope and lived purpose that Raquel has captured, a sense that Gen Z refuse to give up on a brighter future for humanity and the planet.

We explore:

  • Why Gen Z feels overwhelmed by constant access to information
  • Adult responsibility in shaping digital culture
  • Listening and understanding as a leadership practice
  • Bridging generational misunderstanding with empathy and compassion
  • Creating spaces where youth voices are centred, not managed

This conversation is an invitation for parents, educators, leaders, and carers to pause – and listen more deeply. Successive generations have solutions to some of our greatest challenges we haven’t even considered.
