Young men and boys are struggling in the areas of education, employment and health – just three categories recently evaluated by researchers at the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) in the UK. With mental health in decline and a rise in suicide statistics, the CSJ is calling on the government to urgently address these issues.

A State of the Nation Report, ‘Lost Boys’ takes a deep dive into 6 aspects of life for boys and young men…Education, employment, family, health, crime, and technology and pornography. The results of the study are alarming and something we’re seeing across Australia and the US.

Project lead Luke Taylor is 24 and feels grateful that he’s had the best education, is employed and has a stable family that set him up for a positive life, as you’ll hear today that’s not the case for a high percentage of boys and men.

The report compiled with the assistance of hundreds of grassroots charities across the UK, also reveals the tables have turned as more girls and women excel in education, are strongly represented in employment, and health.

So, what’s going on for our boys and men? How can we support them to thrive – become confident, caring men?
