Co-founder Orange Sky Australia

Nicholas Marchesi is a builder, dreamer and doer.

In 2014, alongside childhood friend Lucas Patchett, he co-founded Orange Sky Australia starting with a single van named “Sudsy” providing free mobile laundry services to people experiencing homelessness.

What began as a practical solution quickly became something far more powerful: a platform for conversation, dignity, and connection.

Today, Orange Sky operates across Australia and New Zealand, supporting tens of thousands of “friends” and building responsive, connected communities grounded in empathy.

In 2025 Nicholas and Lucas served more than 40 thousand people in need. A reminder that our children are watching how we speak about vulnerability.

They’re watching how we respond to hardship.
They’re learning whether dignity is conditional, or universal.

How do we support future generations of problem solvers?

Nicholas shares that and so much more in this heartfelt exchange.
